Opel Karl is ready to show in Geneva

Contrary to expectations, announced back in September about last subcompact hatchback Opel Karl, it was not shown at an exhibition in Paris, and was reserved for the prestigious Geneva Motor Show. The five-door five-seat version of the new car will be the main spring premiere of the brand. The car, which is stated as a model of the lower price segment (the cost of the basic version – less than 10 thousand euros), will receive a list of options, many of which – for the first time in the segment.
With a length of just 3.68 meters and a height of 1.48 meters, Opel Karl offers enough space for the driver and four passengers. In addition, if the need to transfer large cargo, the back of the back row can be folded so that the luggage compartment volume will grow to an impressive 1000 liters. In the motion model leads new-liter 3-cylinder 75-horsepower gasoline engine.

Opel is developing electric hatchback Karl

The company intends to develop new Opel compact electric car which will be built on the smallest model of the German mark – Karl.
This is with reference to the actual source tells the publication Autobild.
There are some details of the power plant until updates of the car. We only know that the reserve of a hatchback with fully charged battery will be about 150 kilometers. It also assumes that the electric car will be different from the usual Karl. It will have another radiator grill and totally new headlights.
Terms of the debut of electric Opel Karl are still unknown.

Opel has officially unveiled its smallest model hatchback Karl.
German Automaker revealed the appearance and characteristics of the new hatchback Opel, model Karl, named in honor of Charles Opel, son of the founder of the brand. According to the publication, the new, built on the platform of the new global concern General Motors, the European market will replace the Chevrolet Spark, in some markets, better known as the Daewoo Matiz.
In this case, Opel Karl, whose debut is scheduled for the spring motor show in Geneva, only 40 mm longer Spark (overall length of 3680 millimeters) and, therefore, as much as 340 mm shorter than the Corsa. But, despite its modest size, five-door hatchback is designed for four adult passengers and the driver.
