Opel presented all-new 2.0-liter CDTI diesel engine at the Paris Motor Show

Opel Company has created its new 2.0-liter diesel engine CDTI. Opel representatives unveiled it at the Paris Motor Show. New engine will be installed in Opel Insignia and Zafira Tourer. 170 horsepower diesel engine came up to take a place of previous 163hp 2.0 liter CDTI. The engineers strived for high power, high torque, low fuel consumption and CO2 emission; new engine has a low level of noise and vibration. This high-performance engine is up to Euro6 environmental standards. It is the mightiest diesel engine in Opel’s diesel range.

Michael Ableson, Vice President of Europe Vehicle Engineering, said that this sophisticated engine is a perfect partner for Opel Zafira Tourer and Insignia. Due to its high power density, great balance, low fuel consumption, this motor is one of the best diesels in its class. 2.0-liter CDTI engine will be available for Opel models next year.

The target of engineers was to extract the maximum power from a minimum fuel quality. They installed newly-designed updated combustion chamber, new intake ports, new better fuel injection system, which works with 2,000 bar and up to 10 injections/cylinder cycle.
