The quintessence of the new plan, discussed with the works council and the trade union of metalworkers, is to stop the production of the vehicles in Bochum. This is not subject to dispute. The talks are now about when will it occur and what it will be for about 4 thousand employees who are working on the newest equipment for car factory in the Ruhr. As a compromise, GM seems to be ready to extend production in Bochum until 2016, and then to establish production of spare parts there, and to take part in the financing of the company, which will try to attract firms to the city with new jobs.
