Opel Ampera electric car on the verge of extinction Part II

Last year, sales of electric ambitious fell by 40% compared with 2012. Opel originally planned to sell 10 thousand units per year. In 2013, the company sold 3,200 models, and in the first five months of this year – only 332 units.
In Germany, sales declined by almost 80 percent, because Opel has received an order for all 46 models Ampera. The cost of the car was 38,620 euros. Just last year, the manufacturer has reduced the starting price of nearly 8 thousand Euros. Most of the clients are businessmen.

Range extender for greater distance
Equipped with a lithium-ion battery car can travel on a single electric charge from 40 to 80 miles, depending on driving style and weather conditions. If the battery level becomes too low, the work is turned 86 hp 1.4-liter petrol engines and the generator started to power the electric motor. This allows overcoming the additional 420 kilometers.

370 Newton-meters provide intensive acceleration
