Opel Antara is equipped with four-wheel drive with electronic control. In normal driving conditions, the engine torque is transmitted to the front wheels. However, when driving off-road or slippery road four-wheel drive is automatically activated and the torque is distributed between front and rear axles in a 50:50 ratio, providing optimal power distribution. Also on Antara as standard equipment is installed the system that facilitates control of the car on the way down. Included, DCS maintains a constant speed when driving downhill, predetermined by the driver via the accelerator pedal.

Antara is equipped with a sophisticated electronic driving assistance system that enhances active safety. For example, system ABS, in addition to its usual functions, also includes:
• Security system Cornering Brake (CBC), which improves stability when braking in a turn by reducing the pressure in the wheel brake circuit, following on the inner radius.

• Hydraulic system Brake Assist (HBA), which automatically increases braking pressure when the driver suddenly and strongly presses the brake pedal. This significantly reduces the stopping distance of the vehicle.
• The system dynamic Stability Program (ESP), mount on Opel Antara, also includes Traction Control (TC) and Descent Control System (DCS).
