Opel officially unveiled new wagon Insignia Sports Tourer

German automaker Opel officially unveiled new wagon Insignia Sports Tourer 4×4 of 2017 model year. The world premiere of practical novelty will take place at the Geneva Motor Show. It was reported that the car is built on the light platform, which debuted on the model Insignia Grand Sport new generation. Due to the platform new car has become 200 kg lighter than its predecessor. Also, the novelty got 92 mm increased wheelbase. Vehicle length is 4986 mm (+73 mm), and this wagon became 31 mm higher.

According to official data, the volume of the trunk space of new station wagon Opel Insignia Sports Tourer 4×4 of 2017 model year is 520 liters. With folded rear seat backrest, this figure increases to 1638 liters (+110 liters). It’s now known that customers can order optionally folding seat and contactless opening of tailgate function (it is enough to hold a foot under the bumper of the car).

There are no details about the motor range of wagon Opel Insignia Sports Tourer 4×4 new generation. Most likely, a practical car will get the same power trains as the model Insignia Grand Sport. These are: 1.5- and 2.0-liter petrol engines, and 1.6- and 2.0-liter diesels motors. Versions with front-wheel drive will be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox, all-wheel drive modifications will get new 8-speed automatic transmission.
