Opel Grandland X models will be equipped by Astra engines

The road tests of Grandland X crossover are in full swing. According to the Western mass media, the production version will make its debut in September 2017 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It is known that the engineers developed the novelty in collaboration with PSA Peugeot Citroen Group specialists. The closest kin of Grandland X SUB will be Peugeot 3008, which is already sold in Europe. In addition, both cars have a common modular EMP2 platform, front McPherson struts and semi-independent rear beam. It is expected that wheelbase will also be the same equal to 2675 mm.

The novelty will get the latest generation engines used for Astra hatchback model. The motor range will be presented by 1.4 supercharged petrol Ecotec unit (125-150 horsepower) and 1.6 Ecotec (200 horses); among diesel engines the driver can find the 1.6 CDTi (136 hp) and the 1.6 BiTurbo CDTi (160-hp). There will be offered two transmissions: six-speed manual and automatic. The carmakers do not say about the type of driving system.

In German the price of the new Opel Grandland X will make about 22 000 Euros. The similar model Peugeot 3008 is estimated at 22 900 Euros.
